| The Woodinville Auto Center storm water detention vaults posed several structural design challenges. One of the vaults was only partially buried so that the exposed wall could double as a retaining wall for the parking lot. A concrete vehicle barrier extending up from the exposed vault wall also had to be designed for vehicle impact loading. Cast-in-place panels were required due to unusual jurisdictional requirements for placement of the access manholes. These panels had to be designed for fire truck loading, since they were located over the parking area. |
