| This project involved the installation of 12 new HVAC units on the rooftop of the existing King County Elections Building in Renton, Washington. CG Engineering provided structural engineering including analysis of existing roof framing members and design of new members where required to support the HVAC units. Calculations and construction drawings were provided with details for connections of new roof members. Consideration was given to minimize disturbance to the existing roofing wherever possible and simplify construction of these new members. Additionally, CG designed framing to infill existing skylights and support the edges of 4 new HVAC shafts cut into the existing 2nd floor slab.
